Recognisable by its blue label, the Pays Cathare® brand brings together professionals from Aude who are passionate about their work in agriculture, tourism and crafts.
For almost 30 years the Conseil Départemental de l’Aude pursues a policy of local development based on the enhancement of its heritage. The principle of this policy, supported by Europe, is to promote the maintenance and development of economic activity in the rural zones, as a result of the tourist activity. This comprises a complete programme allied to the enhancement of the Cathar Country with a view to reinforcing the attraction exercised by the already famous chateaux, by developing a special theme to each project.

Thanks to the creation of the logo “Pays Cathare” which indicates the itineraries and flags the products and services providing full guarantees of quality and authenticity, the tourist can tailor his itinerary according to his individual requirements.
The “Pays Cathare” trademark encompasses many professionals from Aude in the tourism, agri-food and wine-growing sectors, not forgetting creative craftspeople and many representatives from the catering professions.
