Description
The artist Pierre Sulmon studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where he became a student of Grommaire. He creates graphic compositions that are woven in the workshops of Aubusson. A draftsman and painter, he also turns to sculpture and wins the Bourdelle Prize in 1967. He uses materials as diverse as wax, polyurethane, or bronze, which allow him to achieve this search for purity of form and lines.
Oil, pastel, and ink reinforce the surety of his stroke and the richness of his palette.
In 2022, the artist’s wife donated 156 pieces to the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Carcassonne.
This exhibition will allow visitors to glimpse a part of his prolific production: watercolors, pastels, sculptures, earthenware, porcelain, paintings…
